Who is One Man Festival?

One Man Festival playing live at a gig
One Man Festival is Chris Gatland, a multitasking acoustic musician based in Hampshire, UK who somehow combines guitar, harmonica, vocals and 8-pedal foot-drums to create a 100% live full band sound.  No loops, no backing tracks, no messing about.  He's a one man band for the modern era. Playing a dizzying range of covers as well as original songs, he's in constant demand for pubs, clubs, parties, festivals etc.

FAQ

One Man Festival's gig equipment setup

Are you really playing everything live? How?

Yes!  Everything you hear is played 100% live.  The drum kits I use (Farmer Footdrum and Floordrum) allow me to play complex drum beats that sound like a real drummer!   On top of that, I use a vocal harmoniser pedal that can pitch-shift my voice to add extra hamonies (I turn this on with one of the little white buttons you can see on my guitar) For the guitar itself, I have an octave effect that adds extra bass to the low strings, a synth pedal that can sound like various keyboards & strings, as well as an electric guitar pickup that can add walls of distortion when I want it.   All of this adds up to a huge sound - many people walk into one of my gigs expecting to see a 4 or 5 piece band, but nope - it's just one bloke using every limb and neuron he has!  It can be exhausting, but it's a lot of fun.

Do you play private parties?

Absolutely!  I can cater for pretty much any event from outdoor festivals to intimate house parties - please get in touch to discuss your ideas.

What areas do you cover?

I'm based in Fareham, Hampshire and generally travel anywhere within around an hour's drive from there.  For anything further afield, drop me a message and maybe we can work something out.

Can you play my song request?

Sure can!  I have a huge song list (see below), but I'm always looking to add to my repertoire.  Often I'll have a go at a new song right there and then at a gig, but if you have something particular in mind for a booking then just drop me a message and I'll give it a listen!

What do you need to set up?

For most events I just need:

- One 240v mains outlet

- A space of about 2.5 x 2.5 metres on solid, level ground.

- Suitable shelter if it's an outdoor booking (eg a gazebo that can provide shade or rain protection as needed)

- At least 2.1m of vertical headroom from floor to ceiling (lower ceilings can be doable, but I need advance warning as my normal PA won't fit)

- Good vibes, happy faces and lots of song requests!
